Spring Cleanup on Waties

Great turnout for the spring cleanup - and while the beach wasn't really as littered as it is sometimes, we still managed to collect over 60 bags of debris and other bulk items. Many, many thanks to all who came out to participate in this event.

The BIG item of the day, was the removal of the white tank that has been buried on the top end of the beach for years. Two Coast Guard volunteers, Rick and Chad, spent over 4 hours digging and shoveling and digging and shoveling to get to the point where they could get a tow strap on the tank and yank it out. Can't say the tank didn't protest, because it did. But perseverence paid off. Thank you guys for a great job!
